That's Country - The Topp Twins Sing 'Sad Dog'

Television (Excerpts) – 1984

The Topp Twins made their debut on country music show That's Country by bringing the blues and the country. Taken from a 1984 swing and blues special, the song is 'Sad Dog', a Topp Twins original. Lynda Topp clad in tuxedo pants and a bow tie  puts in a barnstorming performance on her harmonica, while Jools lays down blues licks on her  guitar. The twins' love of country music is legendary; they learnt "real old country and western tunes" around the radiogram of their childhood Waikato home. The sisters sang together from early on; this performance showcases their "almost telepathic" harmonies.
