Variety show The Mad Mad World of Television is a time portal to mid-90s Aotearoa — featuring Simon Barnett, jokes about "one day cricket," and the chance to win a cordless phone! Filmed with a live studio audience, the first episode includes interviews, musical performances, contests, and plenty of audience participation. Special guests are imported from across the ditch, including moody musician Diesel and the iconic Steve and Terri Irwin at the beginning of their "Crocodile Hunter" fame. It also features early appearances from future Kiwi comedy stars Jeremy Corbett (7 Days) and Paul Yates (Wellington Paranormal).
