The Underwatermelon Man - The Eccentric Instrumentalist

Short Film (Excerpts) – 2006

Narrated by The Topp Twins, this tale is part of bestselling children’s special The Underwatermelon Man and Other Unreasonable Rhymes. Directed and written by Fane Flaws, the so-called ‘video album’ was the first of its kind made in New Zealand. One of 25 tracks on the album, 'The Eccentric Instrumentalist' features a buxom tuba player — not beyond a rendition of 'Smoke on the Water'. She indulges her instrument, particularly by taking it for walks in a pram. The full Underwatermelon Man epic can also be watched on NZ On Screen.

Look at her coming through that gate there. Yeah, bringing her little tuba home. Aww, she's got a rattle on today with that pram.
