This winning film of the 48Hours filmmaking competition for 2024 embodies much of what the event is beloved for; fresh and infectiously fun mayhem. In the simple but hilarious premise, two friends turn a play fight into an epic throw-down. As their punch-up intensifies, the filmmaking style becomes increasingly dramatic, culminating in a cinematic scene with martial arts, a swooping score and stunning vistas. In what was a rare result at 48Hours, winning team Nuggets didn't come from the major centres of Wellington or Auckland, but Hamilton. They were also a brand new team!
