Andrew is a lonely teenager seizing every chance to escape his less than perfect reality. One night, something comes that beckons him into a different world. Year 13 filmmaker Iñaki Belton-Ilarri, from Cashmere High School in Christchurch, creates a stylish psychological drama in this winning 2024 entry for OnScreen, the short film challenge for high schoolers. Competing in the Narrative Short Film category, Belton-Ilarri took on multiple roles (including composing the music). Thomas Coppell, one of the judges, called it "a haunting story that really pulls you in and gives the vibes of 90s dark fantasies".
