Twenty-two-year-old remote tech consultant Eddie lives alone, blissfully unaware of just how lonely he is — that is until a fourth-dimensional intergalactic alien named Golgator invades his home and settles in as his new flatmate. Wellington filmmaker Eddie Elsmore won first place in the 2026 OnScreen student filmmaking competition with this imaginative sci-fi/comedy short, brought to life with quirky, handmade stop-motion animation. Judge and actor Antonia Prebble called it “hugely imaginative”, while fellow judge and cinematographer Bayley Broome-Peak praised its “fantastic writing and character development”.
