From the Album Waiata/Anthems (2021)
Melodownz’ feel good hit 'Fine' finds a new voice in te reo Māori, as 'Pai'. Proud Avondale native Bronson Price, aka Melodownz, found reconnection through being part of web series Waiata Anthems. The process of singing in te reo took him back to his marae and maunga — and to his tūrangawaewae (the place where you are from) for the first time. With the expert translation of Hana Mereraiha (Ngāi Tahu, Tainui, Te Arawa, Taranaki), hip hop track 'Fine' hits the same notes as before, but with all new vibrations. Melodownz rerecorded his song about pretending everything is okay for Waiata's fifth episode.
