It's 1970 and the Royal Family are in town! Time to put on a concert for the young Prince Charles and Princess Anne. The iconic entertainment producer Max Cryer has been put in charge; there will be pop music, go-go dancers and Miss New Zealand as a fire goddess! In this 14-minute clip from the documentary programme Living in New Zealand, Cryer showcases what goes into an event like this — largely, building a new stage (and Royal dais) for Auckland's Western Springs Stadium. There is also a peek at the dance rehearsals, costuming, and Cryer explaining how a drummer being left-handed impacts a stage setup.
