About

Written by political satirist Tom Scott, Press for Service offers a humorous take on reporters battling the Prime Minister over journalistic freedom. Highlighting the mixture of idealism, sleaze and alcoholism some associate with reporters, the teleplay follows David Miller (479's Richard Poore) as he writes a damning piece, but fails to check his sources. Featuring at the start and finish are John Toon's elegant aerial shots of Wellington, and a buoyant score. The impressive cast includes Barbara Ewing (British comedy Brass) and Gliding On actors Ray Henwood and Ross Jolly. Press for Service spawned a short-lived series.
