After months of training, the five recruits are assigned to different specialist troops (Air, Amphibious and Mountain) for advanced environment-specific training. In the separate groups they train for alpine survival, underwater infiltrations, and high-stakes freefall jumps, before again returning to Waiouru Military Camp for more full-scale exercises. The final stage pushes them to perform at an operational level of capability, in scenarios as close to real deployment as possible. The stakes are high with deployment around the corner, where their next mission may no longer be a simulation.
