Over the course of the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, Seven Sharp ran a national lip sync competition to help keep the nation entertained. One of the fan favourites — described by reporter Laura Daniel as “the most romantic thing I have ever seen” — was the Misfire Gang, a group of Auckland bartenders and Blues rugby team fans. Daniel interviews the group — who turn out to be experienced singers of other people's songs — before joining on a performance herself. Also getting in on the act are Blues rugby captain Patrick Tuipulotu and players Karl Tu'inukuafe and Jonathan Ruru (dueting with himself!).
