Julie Christie, DNZM, is one of New Zealand's most successful television producers. She built her company, Touchdown Productions, into the country's leading exporter of programme formats. In 2006 she sold Touchdown to global company Eyeworks in a multi-million dollar deal; she stayed on as managing director until 2012. A decade later she bought factual television company NHNZ.

Biography

Dame Julie Christie began in newspaper journalism, before moving into television in the late 1980s. In 1991 she set up company Touchdown Productions, where she proudly "developed a sustainable business" and sold many shows overseas. After 16 years, Dame Julie sold Touchdown to Dutch media group Eyeworks. She stayed on as Chief Executive of Eyeworks New Zealand until late 2012.
