Hey Judith

Dribbling Darts of Love , Music Video – 1993

from the album Present Perfect (1993)

Full of colour and mischievous charm, Hey Judith sends The Dribbling Darts of Love on a quirky Auckland adventure. Frontman Matthew Bannister sings of love on his commute to the city, boarding a suburban train and getting chased out of a supermarket across a cardboard replica of K Road before arriving at band practice — later donning a VR headset to replay the day's antics. Directed by Karyn Hay, the music video has a crafty, handmade aesthetic. Although not a member of the band, fellow musician Andrew Fagan appears twice: first as a hooded mugger, and again as the band's disguised drummer.

One of my favourite scenes is the red lipstick on the kissing booth.
– Director Karyn Hay on the music video, May 2009
