There’s no point in pretending that the Bruce Burgess expedition wasn’t dangerous. An adventure is really only a series of potential disasters that are kept under control. Without some risk outdoor adventure wouldn’t be worth doing. Of course it’s important to keep those risks within acceptable limits.
