Documentary Arriving Early is set in the neonatal ward of the former National Women’s Hospital in Tāmaki Makaurau, where two families hold onto hope for their premature babies. Harrison is born just before the six-month mark and is rushed into the care of the dedicated neonatal team. While, Anthony arrives at just 24 weeks, his condition is far less certain. As both families navigate the highs and lows of life in the ward, moments of progress are often tempered by setbacks. Guiding them through it all is paediatrician Dr Simon Rowley and his team, working tirelessly to give each child the best possible chance of going home.
