Three remarkable stories from early colonial Aotearoa are brought to life in Frontier Stories - Frontier Tales, presented by Pio Terei. Through re-enactment and narration, each story explores encounters between Māori and Pākehā, shaped by conflict, custom and consequence. The first, 'Ko Maki Taku Ingoa', centres on a tense meeting between Chief Rewi Maniapoto and government agent James Mackay. 'The Wahoo Man' then weaves a tale of love, revenge and mākutu; while 'The Trial of Wi Heretaunga' follows Constable Hēnare Kepa Te Ahururu, torn between allegiances and faced with a difficult decision.
