The Art of Recovery documents "one of the most dynamic, creative and contentious times in the history of Christchurch". Peter Young (The Last Ocean) shot 120 hours of footage to capture a post-quake city where creativity thrives among the rubble: from street art to dance spaces, to the 185 Empty Chairs Memorial. But can the spirit of community and creativity survive the redesign? The documentary won raves, after a standing ovation when it debuted at Christchurch's recently restored Isaac Theatre Royal.
