After their first EP spent six months in the New Zealand charts, The Clean followed it with another EP, with an incredibly long title. It spawned keyboard-driven classic 'Beatnik', which got to number four. In the video, a Texan (David Telford, from 1980s sitcom Rabbiters Rest) stops by a coffee bar, where he is confronted by kaftan-wearing, pot-smoking beatniks, while trying to enjoy a cuppa. Silly costuming, delightful comic timing and hammy performances afford this clip legendary status.
