The Grass is Greener - John Clarke

1991 23m Television
  • Documentary

In this episode of The Grass is Greener John Clarke talks about his blossoming career as a political satirist, script-writer, performer and newly minted author of "very good" poetry. Australian critics praise Clarke's talents and producer Andrew Knight suggests Clarke's innate curiosity drives his creativity, not money or ambition. Included are excerpts from his long running collaboration with fellow satirist Bryan Dawe, a stripped back political satire that relied on brilliant scripts and Clarke's deadpan performances. Clarke also talks on the set of 1990 independent film Death in Brunswick starring fellow Kiwi Sam Neill.
