Carolyn Harper was Head of Factual Production at company Screentime New Zealand. Harper worked on a run of factual series and one-off documentaries. By the late 1990s, she was moving on up, to production manage everything from Treaty of Waitangi series Lost in Translation to Marae DIY. She also worked on many shows involving the police, including Police Ten 7 and as producer of two seasons of Cold Case, which she called "very much a call to action". Her other producing credits included I Am, in which New Zealanders retold traumatic stories, and Annabel Langbein's Free Range Cook. Carolyn Harper died on 16 July 2022.

“I have worked with her for 25 years and she was one of the strongest, fittest, most unflappable, compassionate, and excellent producers I have ever known. She was simply a beautiful human being — dedicated to her family and her job.”
