New Zealand Features at Whānau Mārama: the 2024 NZ International Film Festival
It's film festival time again: from 31 July, cinemas across Aotearoa began rolling out a global smorgasbord of cinematic riches, encompassing drama, documentaries, short films and animation — plus one title which screens in a different order each time it plays (Eno). But this spotlight is all about the Kiwi contingent: from acclaimed festival opener We Were Dangerous, to 70s nostalgia tales (Head South) and return engagements (Heavenly Creatures). As these trailers show, there's also an impressive range of documentaries on offer.
