The Way We Were - Melting Pot

At 22 minutes, this episode of The Way We Were offers a succinct and accessible overview of New Zealand's immigration history. Presenter Paul Holmes explains such major events as the Dawn Raids, and the effects of the 1973 European Economic Community (EEC) in his distinctly candid tone, balancing the facts with his summary of the emotional impact. Members of Aotearoa's Dalmation, Chinese, Pasifika and English communities are interviewed, including former All Black Bryan Williams. He speaks candidly on his experience of being a Pasifika player on the team, including the infamous Springbok tour.
