About
In a lawless fuel wars future, marauders roam the wasteland looking for oil. Their malevolent leader threatens his daughter Corlie (Annie McInroe); she’s rescued by loner Hunter (The Warriors' Michael Beck) and they join eco-sensitive folk at Clearwater Commune. But there will be blood on the plains. Following in the exhaust of Mad Max, the cult film was part of the 1980s tax-break surge, with American director Harley Cokeliss and lead actors flocking to Central Otago, to join Kiwi cast and crew, and local producers Rob Whitehouse and Lloyd Phillips. Cokeliss later returned to direct one of the first Hercules TV movies.
