Don Driver: Magician

Director Paul Judge initially planned to make a short documentary to mark Govett-Brewster Art Gallery's 1999 exhibition celebrating the work of sculptor and pop artist Don Driver. But ultimately he decided to make this feature-length film about Driver's highly original artistic vision. Taranaki-based Driver was self-taught; he had a magpie's eye for discarded materials, and his sculptures and installations regularly created controversy with their explorations of the human unconscious.
