In the lead-up to the 1963 general election, both of New Zealand's main political parties were given television time to use as they wished. For National, that included having Prime Minister Keith Holyoake interviewed by Auckland University’s John Reid. Holyoake talks farming and tax cuts, shepherding an economic recovery, and bipartisan opposition to French nuclear tests in the Pacific. He also shares some of National's catchier election slogans. Holyoake won the election  his second  and remained Prime Minister until resigning in 1972.
