Ken Smith - 60 Years at the Wheel
2020 Film
- Documentary
Ken Smith took up motor racing in 1958 as a 16-year-old. By the time this big screen documentary was released in 2020, he hadn’t missed a season. The film follows Smith's 60th year racing, including competing in his 47th New Zealand Grand Prix, and making his first trip to the famed Laguna Seca Raceway in California. Smith has also mentored many in Kiwi motorsport — V8 legend Greg Murphy and IndyCar champion Scott Dixon are among those interviewed. Despite the fanfare, Smith remains low-key: “To me, it’s the same as every year.” The film was a passion project for petrolhead Adam Jones.
