About

In 2001, filmmaker and ethnomusicologist Paul Wolframm ventured into the remote Lak region of New Ireland, Papua New Guinea. Wolframm stayed with the Lak for two years, immersing himself in the culture and mythologies of the people. After a member of the village mysteriously vanishes, he becomes intrigued by a sinister Lak legend, known by the locals as the 'Song'. When he tries to uncover the truth about the dark tale, he finds himself caught up in troubling circumstances. Wolffram's first feature premiered at the 2011 New Zealand Film Festival, and was invited to over 30 festivals worldwide.
