Playful 1990s puppet series,Tiki Tiki Forest Gang, introduced young viewers to nature and conservation in New Zealand. In this segment, a cheerful pair of hoiho penguins, Scud and Fin, are on a bird-spotting adventure in the Tiki Tiki Forest. With the help of their chatty computer Archie, they learn about the tough little kiwi and the endangered kākāpō. Archie shows them how conservation dogs help find kākāpō so they can be moved to predator-free sanctuary islands. Then, two young Kiwi kids show the penguins how recycling aluminium cans helps protect New Zealand’s wildlife.
