Former politician John Tamihere embraces a dangerous yet exhilarating drive along the Karakoram Highway, a stretch of the Silk Road between China and Pakistan. Tamihere has an eye-opening start to his Intrepid Journey, visiting Kashgar's Sunday livestock market in China. Tensions are high in Taliban-populated areas in Pakistan, but a polo final still draws the crowds.
