Catherine Saunders has worked in both broadcasting and public relations. She began as a radio announcer in 1961 and produced a number of documentaries, before crossing over to television. In the mid 60s, Saunders  reported for Town and Around (she was paid half the amount of the male reporters). Later she spent 12 years as a panelist on Beauty and the Beast, and hosted chat show Tonight with Cathy Saunders. In the 90s, Saunders co-hosted 50 Forward, a show aimed at older viewers.

As the founder of production company Desert Road, Steven O'Meagher has produced a long list of documentaries, films and television shows. His documentaries include The Understudy, Million Dollar Tumour, and Reluctant Hero. O'Meagher executive produced TV drama This is Not My Life, and made the police series Harry, featuring Oscar Kightley in the lead role.

Journalist and academic the late Paul Norris had a major role in changing the landscape of television news and current affairs in New Zealand. He cut his teeth with the BBC, but moved back to New Zealand to run TVNZ’s News and Current Affairs division in 1987. In that role, he revamped the evening news on TV One, and launched the Holmes show in 1989. Norris left TVNZ in 1996 to head the New Zealand Broadcasting School in Christchurch. Norris died in February 2014.
