One Network News - Moo

Television (Excerpts) – 2006

We always knew cows spoke in tongues, but the theory of some Irish farmers — that cows have different accents — quickly made worldwide news in 2006. That year veteran newsreader Peter Williams introduced this upbeat One News item, in which reporter Sonya Wilson puts Kiwi cows to the test; do they moo in different dialects? Wilson discusses the zany claim with linguistics expert Winifred Bauer and Southland dairy farmer Bill Stevenson. But the truth remains a little fuzzy. Are the Irish farmers hearing something the rest of the world isn't? Or are they simply...milking it?

So quite possibly, it's all just bull.
