Taggart - We Don't Take Them Like That Anymore

Television (Full Length Episode) – 1975

This 1975 show Taggart (unrelated to the Scottish show) was a pilot for a series that did not eventuate, and the last drama made by the NZBC. It featured numerous key players from New Zealand's burgeoning screen industry; actor/filmmaker Ian Mune (Sleeping Dogs), actor Bill Johnson (Under the Mountain) and writer Keith Aberdein (Utu). In this episode, detectives Taggart (Johnson) and Denby (Mune) are on the case of a fatal hit and run. The victim happens to be the nephew of old-school senior sergeant Tom Walker (Eddie Hegan), and this otherwise simple case is complicated by Tom's worrying behaviour.
