When this series was made, a can of ready-to-drink spirits cost less than a bottle of water, and it was estimated that harm caused by alcohol cost New Zealand approximately $14.5 million per day. Latta (and others) argue that the government ignored key recommendations from a 514-page report that would have had the most impact.
