About

Watchable in full on NZ On Screen, this ensemble drama is based on Maurice Gee's novel Crime Story. Solo mum Leeanne (Jean's Kate Elliott, who won two awards in Europe for the role) tries to help her troubled brother (Almighty Johnson Jared Turner), unaware of his secret life as a thief. When a burglary goes wrong, a woman is badly injured. The repercussions hit both Leanne's family and that of the victim, and relationships begin to fracture. Fracture was the second movie directed by producer Larry Parr. Its release was delayed by the collapse of Parr's company Kahukura. The Press rated Fracture "confident and complex".
