Gordon Bennett

Short Film (Full Length) – 1989

Featuring an A-list of Kiwi screen talent, short film Gordon Bennett is a comedy about a man with a gift for causing disaster. Gordon (Andy Anderson) arrives to help his mates with their concrete laying business — but his "she'll be right" approach causes pandemonium. Dean Parker (Came a Hot Friday) based the script on a story by Tim Shadbolt. Selected for festivals in London, Seattle and Oporto in Portugal, the film marked a rare turn behind the camera for Sleeping Dogs co-star Nevan Rowe. Playing the concrete laying team are Jim Moriarty, Shirley Gruar and Peter Tait.

One thing we've got to get clear, Gordy: In order to keep cock-ups to a reasonable minimum, I like have to be the boss, and you like have to be the worker.
– Cosgrove (Jim Moriarty) to Gordon Bennett (Andy Anderson)
