I've long been a fan of NZ cinema, and managed to make the premiere of this particular production, which I enjoyed immensely. The familiar sights, colloquial humour and clever dialogue had me enthralled. I'm just disappointed that Hopeless doesn't appear to be available on DVD, and hope that the NZFC will address this in the not too distant future so that this lovely movie can be shared. with others.

A commendable effort, given the very low ($200,000nz) budget. Worth
a view, although some references may be lost by non-New Zealanders. Filmed around Wellington.
