Ice TV's intrepid presenters Petra Bagust, Jon Bridges and Nathan Rarere host the 1998 Montana New Zealand Wearable Art Awards in Nelson (which hosted the event until 2005). They meet the creators of the fantastic fashion extravaganza, whose garments are inspired by everything from Alice in Wonderland, roadkill, X-rays, birds and the Buzzy Bee, to taniwha and Pasifika. The Illumination Illusion section (best seen in ultravoilet light) is a highlight. In-between handing out the gongs, Bridges and Rarere revel in going behind the scenes of the 'bizarre bras' section, and Bagust tries on a possum-skin bikini.
Tonight you're gonna see some of the most outrageous forms of body adornment from anywhere in the world.– Co-presenter Petra Bagust introduces the awards, part one
