Plainclothes - First Episode

Television (Full Length Episode) – 1995

In the first episode of this 1990s police drama, two cases compete for attention at Auckland Central's Urban Crime Control unit. Detective Sergeant Mitchell (Alan Dale) is keen to kill the negative publicity generated by a downtown backpacker theft, while Constable Rose (800 Words' Erik Thomson) is distracted by the attractive French complainant. Detective Sergeant 'George' Samuels (Australian-based actor Rhondda Findleton) must hold her own against the boys' club to stay on the case of a missing sex worker. Findleton won fame for playing the mum in the hugely popular 1990s Anchor Butter commercials.

You're putting a lost backpack ahead of a missing woman.
– Detective Sergeant Samuels (Rhondda Findleton) challenges Detective Sergeant Mitchell (Alan Dale) after he overrules her about case priorities
