Creator Quinton Hita sees bilingual drama series Ahikāroa as a "commitment to a youth Māori voice". The long-running series follows the lives of a group of kura kaupapa (te reo Māori speaking) rangatahi Māori, their friendships, hook ups, triumphs and mess ups.
