Lala Rolls (Children of the Migration) wrote and directed this short film, which gives a view of family life from a child's perspective. A young girl (Chelsie Preston Crayford) is disturbed from sleep by the sound of adults arguing. She tries to shut out this grown-up world by pretending to be "adult" and taking care of the dinner wasting in the kitchen while her parents unwittingly carry on arguing.
Intrepid Journeys - Nepal (Anton Oliver)
Anton Oliver, the thinking person's All Black, travels to Nepal to experience the Annapurna Sanctury and walk the famous Annapurna Circuit. Oliver is the ideal candidate for a journey that requires fitness of body and soul. In this particularly intrepid journey, Oliver's experiences range from poverty and pollution to the heights of ancient Himalayan trekking routes. Oliver hooks [sic] the viewer into the places he visits with insightful and entertaining meditations on the unique culture and environment.

This 2007 pre-World Cup profile interviews All Black hooker Anton Oliver. Oliver chats candidly from his home above a Dunedin art gallery about his long tenure in the black jersey: the 1999 RWC “mugging” by France, captaincy, and his desire not to be seen as a “rugby head”. Oliver — much-respected as a master of the dark arts of scrummaging — also had a reputation as the thinking man’s All Black, an image reinforced when he left rugby the year after this interview to study for an Msc at Oxford University in “bio-domestic conservation management”!
Bernadine Oliver-Kerby
Bernadine Oliver-Kerby’s 25 plus years in broadcasting have ranged from sports reporting (including All Blacks tests and the Olympics) to reading the news — she was a longtime co-presenter on the One News weekend slot. Oliver-Kerby has hosted sports show Skoda Game On, the Halberg sports awards and quiz show New Zealand’s Brainiest Kid; she is also an award-winning radio newsreader.
Oliver Driver
Oliver Driver's career has seen him fronting arts programmes and breakfast show Sunrise, and portraying everyone from villainous alien Mr Wilberforce to a sensitive sperm donor and a wacky nurse. The ex-Auckland Theatre Company artistic director has also done time with music station Alt TV, co-starred in chalk and cheese comedy Sunny Skies and directed many episodes of Shortland Street.
Oliver Hilbert
Oliver Hilbert began lecturing at Auckland’s Media Design School in 2009. Hilbert has worked in visual effects for over 15 years, including animating computer models for the British arm of former games heavyweight Midway, on their popular Wheelman games. He has produced a number of Design School shorts, and wrote, directed and edited Cocked Up and Escargore, usually working with a team of students. Short films that he's been involved in — including Das Tub and Accidents, Blunders, and Calamities — have picked up awards both in New Zealand, and as far afield as the United States, Germany and Spain.
Thomas Oliver
While making his name fronting The Thomas Oliver Band, Thomas Oliver added a new string to his bow when he picked up a lap steel guitar (where sound is made by pressing a bar against the guitar strings). He has gone on to earn international recognition as a leading proponent of the instrument. His instrumental YouTube videos and debut solo album Beneath the Weissenborn have garnered acclaim. Oliver's 2015 single ‘If I Moved to Mars’ was nominated for a 2016 APRA Silver Scroll songwriting award.
Oliver Driver: Theatresports, Shortland Street, and beyond...
Even as a schoolboy, Oliver Driver knew he wanted to be an actor. Since leaving school he has had a varied career in theatre, television and film. Playing the role of male nurse Mike Galloway in Shortland Street made Driver a famous face in New Zealand, but he has also appeared in other homemade TV shows such as The Strip, Serial Killers, and Letter to Blanchy, and the films Topless Women Talk about Their Lives, Magik and Rose, Black Sheep, and A Death in the Family. Driver appeared as the villainous ‘Mr Wilberforce’ in the feature film Under the Mountain.
QTV - First Episode
QTV is a children's series, designed to bring science alive and make it relevant and interesting to young viewers. Each episode of QTV covers a topic such as forensics, volcanoes, tsunamis, biodiversity, climate change, etc. Q is short for question - the show's tagline is "Question Everything".
Shoes
Shoes is a refugee's story told with rhythm and shoes. A woman seeking shelter in a new country arrives at a railway station troubled by turbulent thoughts of her past. Walking past a shop window, she sees some familiar-looking, worn-out shoes which trigger more memories. Pairs of dancing shoes eloquently recreate her journey from dance hall to war zone. Directed by Sally Rodwell, founding member of alternative theatre troupe Red Mole, Shoes screened at international festivals including Montreal and Hof.
