Alison Holst's Microwave Menus - Series One
Television (Full Length Episodes) – 1989
By the late 1980s Alison Holst was a national treasure, with a range of sold-out recipe books and a backlog of popular cooking shows. She embraced technology; by the mid 1980s, microwaves had become affordable and fashionable in Kiwi kitchens. In Microwave Menus, Holst delivers six episodes worth of weekday meals, nutritious breakfasts and tasty treats, all cooked using the microwave. Each episode contains at least two meals, including lots of time-saving breakfast options (like bran muffins, homemade juices and bacon three ways) followed by a "family"-sized dinner. I'd do the corn next. If it's lovely, fresh corn on the cob I serve it before the rest of the meal, as a course all by itself.
