Ever since seeing this superbly zany band on TV way back in the gloriously hot summer (in the UK!) of 1976, I have been a thoroughly hooked 'Enzer'. An awful, awful lot has happened in life since then but nothing will ever dampen my inherent love that I have for Tim, Neil and the many band members through the years.
These magnificent musical guys continue to write magnificent music that continue to ride the times. And those costumes..!!

This is a fantastic song, I rate it even higher now than I did back in 1984, I can't believe it didn't make No 1 on the charts. (No 13 according to Wikipedia). Split Enz were def a world class band and one of the, if not the, best band from NZ so far.

I was made redundant a few months ago due to COVID-19, after being at the company for a little over 10 years. At the time, I remember trying to think of an appropriate song, and this one ticked all the boxes. Written and sung by my favourite singer/songwriter, released in the year I was born, and later on re-recorded by my favourite band.

It's been challenging to let go of all I know, but after Split Enz ended, we all know what Neil achieved. I'm certainly not suggesting I will become a global superstar, but I'm confident that I'll be successful if I put in the work.

I told my team about this song and how perfect it was for me and my situation, and signed off with an email containing the subject line, 'Finally marching to a different tune'.

This song helped make what could've been a rough situation a bit better!
