This pacey promo gathers highlights from the first 15 years of New Zealand's longest-running soap. Offering blink or you'll miss it glimpses of more than 60 Shortland Street cast members in action, the compilation features girl groups, accidents, exploding cars, kisses, weddings — and Michael Galvin and Theresa Healey cutting it up on the dance floor. The promo is set to an extended version of the original theme music, sung by Tina Cross and composed by Shortland Street music veteran Graham Bollard. It aired in 2007, the same year that the Ferndale Strangler began his reign of terror on the show.
Over the course of 26 years many iterations of the theme have been revamped with new technology to accommodate the stylistic advances heard in popular music....– Wrtier Godfrey de Grut on Graham Bollard's Shortland Street theme, NZ Musician, August 2016
