The show Sleeping Beauty must go on in this episode of Shortland Street, even after head nurse Judy (Donogh Rees) is dragged onstage to replace boozed evil fairy Barbara (Annie Whittle). Stage manager Waverley (Claire Chitham) watches nervously as Chris Warner and Victor Kahu (Calvin Tuteao) perform their sword fight and (in)famous 'rap battle', only for Kahu to milk his death scene. Back at Shortland Street it's the Adam Heywood Show, as the doctor (Leighton Cardno) deals with multiple cases of poisoning. But nothing could match the headlines of September 11, which meant few viewers caught this episode.
