Hi there who was the guy every one hated in Gloss? I remember back in 1990.ish Me and him and Rob McGlocklin(sp) tied one on at a club in Christchurch. Rob was a great guy and this fella was too. Im old and live in the US now but what a bloody fun time it was.

I am amused beyond belief that this episode was written by the ever-sarcastic Rosemary McLeod. I wonder if she puts it on her CV?
Rose 24 Jul 2011 - 10.09pm
Great stuff. Can the other episodes please be made available somehow? I would definitely buy the series, either as download, pay-per-view/rental, or even DVD.

Wellington fan 24 May 2010 - 10.03pm
Please please please please, I am begging you, TVNZ, I want them into DVDs and put CAPTIONS & SUBTITLES into them as well because GLOSS used to have teletext subtitles on TV when I watched it when I was 13 to 16 years old.. I loved it and never missed every episode as I am profoundly deaf.. its great to see it here but where are the captions? Lots of us in the deaf community had fond memories of GLOSS as it was so exciting that time as it was even before Shortland Street...
keep me informed..!!

Did you notice Alma Johnston among the wedding guests? She was NZ's first female TV announcer and I learnt speech and drama from her at Titirangi in the 1970s. She married Tim Evans-Freke, also a TV announcer, but he died many years ago. I believe Mrs Evans-Freke is still teaching in Auckland and involved in the arts community.

The knitwear! The ear-rings! The accents! What a brilliant snapshot of our (imaginary) lives in the late '80s. Hooray for Gloss and all it stands for.
Lindis Capper-Starr 23 Oct 2008 - 11.24pm
I loved it! It was especially strange seeing panoramas of Auckland without the Skytower to use for orientation.
One big thing though - I wasn't happy with a break being put in before the credits. This wasn't part of the original broadcast and it was obvious that the closing theme music was meant to kick in to underscore the drama of Maxine's sudden arrival at the wedding. Instead a tiny snatch of the theme played, then the clip abruptly ended, ruining the flow!
Why not stick with the original ad breaks for splitting up the episodes?
I'm really looking forward to seeing future episodes!
